We were one step away, but we were not there yet. Was it ok to start celebrating that we had reached our Valencia dream? You could sense our emotions taking over; we were finally getting a break from all the insanity (not only for an entire day from travel). All we had talked about before leaving the U.S.A. was being able to leave the bad behind, but maybe our expectations were too high. It was time to see for ourselves!

I suspected it wasn’t going to be easy the day we flew to Valencia, but I had no idea it was going to be that difficult! It had never crossed our minds that we might have to leave our cats behind, or that we would get separated once in Europe! My stress level went through the roof, and it started to feel like we might not make it.

By creating small-scale bee-friendly areas, we aim to offer these incredible insects a greater amount of food sources throughout the year, but it can only be done if residents in municipalities follow the same practices, such as planting similar flora. But not having enough people to inhabit these areas could be a problem, so we are supporting the government’s initiatives to curb depopulation.
